Peleș Castle, Sinaia, Romania

Peles Castle is considered to be one of the most beautiful palace complexes not only in Romania but in whole of Europe. This masterpiece of German Neo-Renaissance architecture is located in the mountain town of Sinaia, which is located 44 km from Brasov.

Peles Palace was built in the Romanian region of Prahov, in the Carpathian Mountains, in the middle of the medieval road connecting Transylvania and Wallachia.

The construction of the castle began in 1873 by order of King Charles I, and was completed 10 years later - in 1883. In its 160 rooms you can see some of the best examples of European fine art.

Today, Peles Castle is reached by an old winding path, strewn with stalls, from which you can buy a variety of souvenirs.

Pelesh's style is emphatically German Renaissance, but motifs from the Gothic, German Renaissance, German Baroque and French Rococo architectural styles can also be discerned.

The castle is surrounded by beautiful forests, which makes the place even more charming and makes it a must stop at any tourist route in the Sinaia region.
